nz <br />A request from Ernest H. Miller that a Four Way Stop sign be installed at Twy <br />ckenham and Colfax. Request granted. <br />Request of Green Arrow Parking Company to operate a parking lot at 117 E. Wash- <br />ington Street was granted by the Board. Said company is ordered to submit to the City of <br />;'South Bend, Indiana, bond and insurance to cover lot at 117 E. Washington Street. <br />The Clerk of the Board was ordered to advertise for a front-end loader for the' <br />Street Department. <br />The Board commends all Departments at the request of the Mayor in reference toi <br />the dragging of the St. Joseph River in an attempt to recover the body of Mary Martin. All <br />participating volunteers did a most commendable job and was deeply appreciated by Mayor <br />Voorde. <br />Verner L. Lane, Bldg. Commissioner, appeared before the Board with reference <br />to the defective sidewalks at 323, 325, 327 South Michigan Street. The Clerk of the Board <br />was ordered to notify the owners to take immediate action to repair the sidewalks. <br />Hartman Builders having requested the approval of a temporary sewer line from <br />Sheridan Avenue east to the first north and south street in the Brentwood Addition. This! <br />,sewer temporarily will empty into the 18 inch sewer in Sheridan Avenue in order that Hart- <br />1 man Builders may construct homes along Ardmore Trail. Subsequgntly, Hartman Buidders will <br />construct a. relief sewer direct along Sheridan Avenue east to the first north and south <br />:Street in the Brentwood Addition at a cost of $27,000. A bond in the sum of $27,000 Per-i <br />'formance bond to be made to the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Contract Supplement Number 28 of the Sollitt Construction Company was accepted <br />by the Board. <br />Supplement ;#2 was approved by the Board. This supplement being a contract for <br />the for the City of South Bend and Rieth-Riley Construction Company dated September 153, <br />1955 for the improvement of Miami Street. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2832, 1956 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That; <br />it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The alley west of Olive Street from Lincolnway West, south <br />to the north line of the alley south of Lincolnway West. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such va-' <br />cation: <br />Lot numbered 1 in Kale is Lincoln Highway Y g way Addition and all <br />property east of said alley from Lincolnway West to Bonds <br />Avenue owned by Epworth Memorial Methodist Church. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 20th day of April and on <br />;the 27th day of April, 1956 in the South Bend Tribune and Record. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 7th day of May, 1956 at <br />10:00 A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected' <br />by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 16th day of April, 1956. <br />R.
