<br />THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into this 6th day -of February, 1956, by and between
<br />the CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, acting by and tErough its Boar o Public Works and Sa
<br />fety, hereinafter called the First Party, and NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT, INC., a corpora-!
<br />' tion organized under the laws of the State of Indiana, its successors and assignes, here''=
<br />inafter called the Second Party,
<br />WITNESSETH:
<br />The parties hereto agree that the certain contract made between the pares it' _ •r
<br />and. con
<br />firmed.by Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, on or about the 13th
<br />day of May, 1940, as amended by a contract entered into on the 13th day of February, 1946
<br />between the parties and thereafter confirmed by the Common Council and as further amended
<br />by a contract entered into the 8th day of July, 1950 between the parties and thereafter
<br />confirmed by the Common Council, and as further amended by contract entered into on the
<br />26th day of January, 1953, and thereafter confirmed by the Common Council, shall be and
<br />is hereby amended in each of the following respects:
<br />All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding the cash fare of 18¢ now
<br />existing, are amended as follows, to -wit -
<br />Cash fare . . 20 •
<br />All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding the token fare of 3 tokens I'
<br />for 5OX now existing; are hereby eliminated.
<br />The existing school fares of 10X cash for High School students and 5� cash for
<br />Grade School students shall remain the same.
<br />All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding transfers, shall remain the::
<br />j same.

<br />The Second Party shall furnish service, to the •
<br />ly established. public over the routes now present-
<br />Said contract made between the parties on the 13th day of May, 1940, as amended
<br />' by the contract of February 13, 1948, as further amended by contract of July 8, 1950,
<br />and as further amended by contract of March 10, 1952, and as further amended by contract;
<br />of January 26, 1953, and as hereinabove amended, shall be and is hereby continued in
<br />full force and effect.
<br />Executed in triplicate by the parties on the day first above mentioned.
