FEBRUARY 6, 1956 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works & Safety was held on Monday, Feb- <br />ruary 6, 1956 at 10:00 A.M. (CST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous <br />meeting were read and approved. Petition referred to the City Engineer. <br />Notice pertaining to the dedication of Lots No. 405 and 450 to be known as Crosby <br />Avenue from the School City of South Bend to the City of South Bend was sent to School <br />School Att: of Mr. Galen B. Sargent. <br />The Board has authorized Charles W. Cole & Son to do the engineering work on all <br />Barrett Law Work for the year of 1956 for the City of South Bend. Board approved. <br />The 22nd day of February according to the General Assembly of Indiana is consider-4 <br />ed a legal holiday and therefore the City Hall and its componets shall be closed on the 'i . <br />22nd day of February, 1956. <br />The Special Police Bond received from the Bendix Products Corporation (Schedule <br />Bond No. P-30496) by the Fidelity and Casualty Co. of New York was approved by the <br />Board. <br />A letter was received from School City of South Bend by Galen B. Sargent, Ass1t. <br />Superintendent in charge of Business wherein they waive any and all rights to remonstrate <br />against the final estimate of the cost of paving on the Eisenhower Avenue Pavement Im- <br />provement Project. Letter filed and accepted. <br />A letter was received from Portage Realty Company by Earl Kime, Ass1t. Secretary, <br />wherin they waive any and all rights to remonstrate against the final estimate of the <br />cost of paving on the Eisenhower Avenue Paving Improvement Project. Letter accepted and s <br />filed. <br />A letter was received from School City of South Bend by Galen B. Sargent, Assit. <br />Superintendent in charge of Business wherein they waive any and all rights to remon- <br />strate against the final estimate of the cost of paving on the Crosby Avenue Pavement <br />Improvement. Accopted and approved by the Board. <br />• 3i <br />A copy of the Final Estimate of the Cost of the Improvement of Eisenhower Avenue <br />was submitted to the Board. Accepted and approved by the Board. <br />'i <br />A contractorts bond in the sum of $1000 was approved by the Board for the B & G <br />Construction Company, Inc. <br />A S-T-O-P Sign was installed at the following <br />Blvd. at Niles Avenue. place: Northeast Corner of Corby r <br />A letter was received from J. K. Sheehan, Manager of the Green Arrow Parking, Inc.d , <br />requesting permission to change the rate on Lot #41 from 25� each hour or less to 351, <br />first hour and 10¢ for each additional hour. Matter taken -.under advisement until Tues- <br />day, February 14, 1956. .,I <br />A petition was received for the vacation of the alley between Lots 137 and 136, end <br />149 and 150 of North Shore Terrace Addition; Petition referred, to the City Planning Com`r_ • <br />ission.for investigation and report. <br />
