Chief Dutrieux <br />having appeared and submitted evidence -of police records of.Mr. Morrist convictions in <br />the City of South Bend as well as accidents and requested that his application be deniedi <br />The Board having heard evidence now finds that a taxi -cab license shall not be issued to:I <br />said George W. Morris. Application denied. <br />Verner L. Lane, Building Commissioner, appeared before the Board with reference <br />to defective sidewalk in the vicinity of 110 to 114 West Colfax Avenue. Matter submitted <br />to City Engineer and the City Engineer will contact property owners. <br />Consoer- Townsend & Associates submitted contract supplement No. 24 supplement <br />to Sollitt Construction Company general contract for the painting of all insulated piping <br />at the Sewage Treatment Plant. Contract approved and ordered filed. <br />The Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War requested permission to sell <br />flowers on the city streets. Permission granted and the date set for April 212 1956. <br />The following stop signs were installed: <br />!; Carroll Street, both sides, at Donald St. <br />McPherson Street, northwest corner, Indiana Avenue. <br />A Contractor's Bond in the su <br />m of $1000 was approved for Paul I. Cohen and Harold <br />Ranking d/b/a Modern -Heating and Air Conditioning Company, 613 E. Madison Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana. <br />A petition was received for the installation of a street light between 312 South'; <br />Kentucky Street and Dundee Street. Referred to the Electrical Department. <br />An application was received from A. H. Gardner, Contractor, for permission to <br />occupy public property at 214 S. Michigan Street during the construction of building for; <br />Wormser Hat Company.
