May, representing Officer Erwin <br />Kowalski, requesting a thirty -day continuation of hearing scheduled for this date, in <br />order to have time for investigation of specifications and secure witnesses, etc. After <br />some discussion the Board granted the thirty -day extension of time and hearing was set <br />for January 9, 195�, at 11:00 otelock A. M. <br />Next appeared before the Board, Verner L. Lane, Building Commissioner, informing <br />the Board that the hazardous condition of the two buildings on South Main Street had <br />been corrected, but that the building located at 115 West Jefferson Boulevard had not <br />corrected this condition. The Board directed the Clerk to inform Mr. Richard A. Mauer, <br />Asstt. Trust officer, that this condition must be corrected immediately. <br />Plans and Specifications were filed with the Board, by Clyde E. Williams & Associates <br />for the construction of pavement improvement for WILLIAM STREET AND MADISON STREET. The <br />Board approved the plans and specifications and engineer's fee for same, but the project <br />is being held in abeyance. <br />George W. Morris, 531 N. St. Louis Boulevard, next appeared before the Board <br />regarding Taxi Driverts License which was denied by the Controller, and a hearing was <br />set for Monday, December 19, 1955, at 10:30 A. M. <br />The Board granted permission for the use of a large searchlight at Bobts Nash, <br />216 S. Lafayette Boulevard, on Thrusday, Friday and Saturday evenings, December 15th, <br />16th, and 17th. <br />Attorney Cholis, representing the Northern Indiana Transit Co., Inc., filed with <br />the Board request for increased fares for the bus company, and this was taken under <br />advisement. <br />
