409 <br />• <br />,0 <br />11 <br />I <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2819 - 1955 <br />f <br />I <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the <br />award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of the i <br />FIRST ALLEY WEST OF SHERMAN AVENUE from the north line of Kinyon Street to the south <br />line of the alley north of Kinyon Street, under Vacation Resolution No. 2819. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publications of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several <br />lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said <br />Roll. The Board, lle Rings'ratified 'confirmed and <br />approvedi with ut modification aannd <br />e c are s same in a g , <br />the proceedings closed, and the portion of alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of <br />benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings <br />had with reference to said alley'vacation are hereby sustained. <br />Next appeared before the Board, Mr. Ralph Haisley, applicant for Taxicab License, <br />Robert Gawthorpe, President, Courtesy Cab Company and Mr. Otto Morehouse representing <br />the Cab Driver's Union. The Board then proceeded with the hearing scheduled for this <br />time and after lengthy discussion wherein it could not be proven to the Boardts satis- <br />faction that a positive need existed for an additional taxi, spokesman for Mr. Haisley <br />requested an extension of the hearing to a further meeting with a view to providing <br />additional time in which to prepare to present data and evidence of the public's need <br />for the increased taxi service, it is their intent to provide. The Board granted the <br />request, setting the time and date for this hearing for 11:00 A. M. November 21, 1955. <br />The Board next examined and approved Supplemental Agreement No. 1, pertaining <br />to pavement improvement on Eisenhower and Crosby Avenues. <br />Contractor's Bonds, each in the sum of-$1,000.00, were examined.and approved <br />by Max Dreibelbis and Kenneth F.
