<br />FINAL CONFIRMATION OF IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO.2816 - 1955
<br />For the improvement of FREMONT STREET from the north line of Elwood Avenue to the
<br />south line of Keller Street by constructing a Class "C" pavement, under Improvement
<br />Resolution No. 2816, 1955, adopted September 6, 1955, and first confirmed on October
<br />1955-
<br />No written remonstrances or remonstrances against said improvement bearing the
<br />• signatures of fifty-one (51%) percent or more of the resident property owners on said
<br />street to be improved, having been filed within the ten day period following the date
<br />and time of the hearing on said improvement, therefore
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and 'Safe' of the City of South Bend

<br />;I Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2816, 1955, duly adopted by this Board on
<br />September 6, 1955, and first confirmed on October 1955, be and the same is in all
<br />things finally confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered made.

<br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ADOPTED
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, that the Profiles, Drawings, Plans, General Details, Specifications and
<br />Estimates approved by this Board on the 6th day of September, 1955, for the improvement
<br />of Fremont Street from the north line of Elwood Avenue to the south line of Keller
<br />Street by constructing a Class 110 pavement, be and the same af+e hereby adopted and
<br />ordered placed on file in the office of the Department of Public Works and Safety.
<br />October 24, 1955, at the hour of 10:00 o'cicok A. M. C.S.T. is hereby fixed as the
<br />time and the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this
<br />City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open and
<br />consider bids for the construction of said improvements, provided all bids for the
<br />construction of said work shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of this Board before
<br />10:00 A. M. C.S.T of said day,: Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid
<br />a bid bond in the sum of five percent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution
<br />of this contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two weekly publications
<br />-of-the time and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered for
<br />the construction of said work. Said Clerk shall state in said notices that each bidder
<br />shall enclose with his bid a bid bond for above named amount, to insure the execution
<br />of this contract.

<br />Engineer's Estimate, dated October 6, 1955, for pavement improvement on Eisen-
<br />hower Avenue and -Crosby Avenue, was examined and ordered placed on file.
<br />Then appeared before the Board Mr. T. E. Kuntz, bringing to the Board's attention
<br />the failure of the property owner to restore curbing on the southside of the 100 block
<br />East Woodside Avenue at Michigan Street and failure of control of the loading and un-
<br />loading of trucks at this site. Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, being present, and
<br />confirming Mr. Kuntz' statement, the Board directed the City Engineer to order the
<br />property owner to restore not less than sixty feet of curbing.
<br />The time now being 10:00 A. M. G.S.T., it was so announced and the Board then
<br />proceeded with the opening of bids.
