<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, August 15, 1955, at

<br />The Board first examined petition for the removal of a catalpa tree in north and
<br />south alley, between Colfax Avenue and Columbus Court, being the first alley east of La
<br />JPorte Avenue. It was the decision of the Board to ask that an inspection be made of
<br />this tree by the Department of Public Parks; the Board to be guided in final action by
<br />the recommendations for the Department of Public Parks as set forth in a report of their
<br />inspection.'
<br />• The Board nextexamined a petition placed with the Board by Esther Landrum and
<br />`Mrs. Harry Lucas, dated August 15, 1955• Inasmuch as petition was found to be addressed
<br />`ito Northern Indiana Transit, Inc., the Board directed that it be forwarded to the transit
<br />'company intact.

<br />Then appeared before the Board Street Commissioner, H. M. Tomlinson and brought to
<br />the Boardts attention the condition of Logan Street being such that the rural mail
<br />carrier refuses to make deliveries to residents on that section of the street from
