Arcole Midwest Corporation will maintain and improve roadway <br />on both lanes of Riverside Drive,,from Cleveland Road to the <br />Darden Bridge with crushed stone, and leave the condition of <br />the Roadway equal or better than its present condition when <br />its use by the contractor is terminated. <br />2. Arcole-Midwest Corporation will confirm this agreement to <br />the Board by letter. <br />The Board next examined and referred to the City Engineer, a petition for the <br />;construction of curbing on East Jefferson Boulevard from 28th Street to the Mishawaka <br />city limits. <br />The Board then examined petition filed by the Northwest Property Owners Association, <br />jreque8ting sidewalks and improved street lighting on Angella Boulevard, from Riverside <br />;Drive to Woodward Avenue. The Board referred the matter to the City -Engineer and Supt. <br />IHunsberger of the Electrical Department for study and report within the -next two weeks. <br />`The repaving of Portage Avenue, from Keller to Lathrop Drive was next given con- <br />sideration by the Board and plans and specifications having been prepared and now avail- <br />able, -the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids. <br />The time now being 10:00 A. M. CST., the Board next proceeded with the opening of <br />bids received in the form of offers for a quantity of scrap iron and steel, located at <br />the Street Department yards. Of three offers received, that of Hurwich Iron Co., Inc., <br />was found to be the best, and was accepted by the Board. <br />The letter of the Walnut Grove Mutual Housing Corporation, under date of May 17, <br />'1955, with regard to sealing of the pavement on 26th, 27th, 28th Streets and East Colfax <br />'Avenue in this area, was read and referred to the Street Commissioner for attention. <br />;Mr. Tomlinson, being present, agreed to make personal contact with the corporation <br />'manager, Lisle F. McNabb, and inform these people of action to be taken to include <br />';these streets in the 1955 sealing program. <br />An Excavation Bond, in the sum of $2,000.00, was next examined and approved for <br />;:Burton Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc. <br />Contractors Bonds,each in the sum $1,000.00, were examined and approved for <br />contractors, as follows: <br />Thomas J. Breveard <br />Edward Burton <br />Paul M. Huff <br />Walter Szymczak <br />The request of the Pioneer Women Childrents Rescue Fund Flower Sale, <br />'originally set for June 20th, to be changed to June 27th was granted by -the <br />which was <br />Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />,at 11:20 A.
