A. Hahn, representing the Northern Indiana Transit, Inc., presented to the <br />Board their request that Route Change No. 3, contained in their letter of April 22, 1955, <br />1!be eliminated. The Board approved the elimination of Route Change No. 3 in compliance <br />:with request. <br />A letter,addressed to the Board, under date of May 29, 1955, from Maurekts Super <br />!Market, 1526 Miami Street, pertaining to the installation of Parking Signs, was referred <br />iby the Board to Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, for consideration and recommendations. <br />A -petition, dated May 31, 1955, for the improvement of Thirty -Fourth Street, from <br />!Jefferson to Washington Street by the construction of sanitary sewer, was examined and <br />referred to the engineer for investigation and report. <br />The Board next approved options obtained and presented by Russell Oberlin on <br />approximately fifty percent of the parcels of Eddy Street required for right of way <br />`purposes for the widening of,this street. <br />It now being 10:00 A. M. CST., it was so announced, and the Board proceeded with <br />the opening of bids for the paving of Olive Street, from the north line of the New Jersey'; <br />!Indiana and Illinois Railroad to the south line of Western Avenue. Bids were as follows:, <br />LANT CONSTRUCTION C 0 . <br />NEW CARLISLE, INDIANA. <br />Failure of this bid to bear an official signature, and/or a properly <br />executed non -collusion affidavit, caused its immediate rejection, and <br />no consideration could be given it by the Board. <br />REITH==RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO. Moore, for tabulation and report.. <br />Engineer W. S. Moore, being present, placed,bef ore the Board a drawing of the <br />proposed widening of Olive Street by two and one-half feet, from Washington Street to <br />Linden Avenue. The Board accepted the drawing for study and consideration. <br />The Board next examined and approved plans, submitted by Wilbur H. Gartner & <br />' Associa-tes, for local sewer improvement, affecting lots 564 to 574 and lots 523 to 5,31 <br />in Edison Park Addition, bearing date of May 16, 1955. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: <br />Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, being present, informed the Board concerning the <br />bid submitted by Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Company, under date of May 23, 1955, stating that <br />the 2-Door Sedan equipped as per proposal meets the requirements. The Board, accordingly: <br />;-awarded the contract and directed the Clerk to issue formal purchase order to confirm <br />their action. <br />The Board 'approved installation of signs as follows: <br />S-T-O-P signs on Randolph Street, both sides at.Caroline Street <br />S-T'-0-P sign on Randolph Street, northeast corner at Twyckenham <br />NO PARKING THIS SIDE on south side of Navarre Street from Main <br />Street east to lst alley. <br />Contractoris Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, was examined and approved for D.
