REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 14, 2017 348 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS AND TITLE <br />SHEET — IRONWOOD DRIVE SIDEWALK, EDISON ROAD TO S.R. 23 — PROJECT NO. <br />117-033A (LRSA) <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referenced project. Also presented at this time for <br />approval and execution was the Title Sheet. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, <br />seconded by Ms. Doran and carried, the above request was approved and the Title Sheet was <br />signed. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS — 2017 <br />DEMOLITIONS, PHASE 2 — PROJECT NO. 117-121 (V&A INITIATIVE <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Tara Weigand, Engineering, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referenced project. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Fritzberg and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS — <br />MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER WATER SOFTENER SYSTEM (MORRIS <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND) <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks, and Arts, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of proposal for the above referenced project. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Fritzberg and carried, the above request <br />was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS — <br />VENUES, PARKS, AND ARTS EXPERIENTIAL RECREATIONAL VEHICLE (VPA <br />CAPITAL LEASE) <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks, and Arts, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of proposal for the above referenced vehicle. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Fritzberg and carried, the above request <br />was approved. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 50-2017 — A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS FOR A PILOT PROGRAM FOR PAVEMENT TEMPERATURE MONITORING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Dorau, seconded by Ms. Fritzberg and carried with Mr. Gilot <br />recused, the following Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO.50-2017 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />FOR A PILOT PROGRAM FOR PAVEMENT TEMPERATURE MONITORING <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Board of Public Works ("Board") is the contracting <br />body for the City of South Bend, Indiana ("City"); and <br />WHEREAS, enFocus will assist the City's Division of Traffic and Lighting to mount <br />infrared temperature sensors ("sensors") for pavement temperature measurement on six (6) <br />traffic light poles in various locations throughout the City (see Exhibit B attached hereto for <br />tentative, planned locations); and <br />WHEREAS, to power and send the data collected, enFocus will need connections for <br />power and Ethernet installed to the sensor; and <br />WHEREAS, the sensors will be mounted temporarily for the 2017-2018 Winter and <br />Spring seasons; and <br />WHEREAS, all installations and removals of sensors are to be paid for by the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the sensors readings will be compared to manual temperature readings taken <br />daily to validate the accuracy and reliability of the sensors; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that temporary sensors shall be supplied <br />by enFocus and installed on traffic poles in various locations consistent with Exhibit B by <br />
