<br />The bids were referred to the engineer for tabulation and report. Some discussion
<br />followed relative to the required financing of the contract.
<br />The Board next considered the appeal of Robert W. Leazenby from the Board's action
<br />of February 28, 1955, in rejecting his application for taxicab driver's license. Monday,
<br />March-14, 1955, was set as the date for a hearing in this appeal, and the Clerk was
<br />directed to so.notify all concerned.
<br />A letter from Paschen Contractors, Inc., dated February 23,-1955, requesting release
<br />of _a. portion of the ten percent retainer, was next given consideration, and after dis-
<br />cussion, it was agreed to release one-half of this retainer, which pertains to Contracts
<br />5A and 5B, Intercepting Sewers.
<br />The'Board next considered and granted permission for the operation -of Green Arrow
<br />Parking, Inc, Parking Lots Nos. 38, 39 and 40, located at 425 N. Michigan Street, South
<br />Lafayette Boulevard, and 121 N. Main Street, respectively, at the rates indicated in
<br />their letter of request, dated March 1, 1955-
<br />The Board then reviewed bids received and opened at the previous regular meeting,

<br />jf or wire and other supplies and equipment required by the Electrical Department. In
<br />;;accord with the recommendation of Supt. Ira Hunsberger, contract was awarded The
<br />IGamewell Company for the required fire alarm boxes, and the Graybar Electric Company
<br />1iwas awarded contract to provide the remainder of the departmentis needed supplies,
<br />in exact accord with their bid, dated February 25, 1955•
<br />Two petitions, reporting hazardous traffic conditions for both pedestrians and
<br />,:motorists, in the general area of Mishawaka Avenue at Eddy, Beyer Avenue, and Longfellow
<br />:Street; -were examined and referred to Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, for investigation
<br />and report.
<br />The Board examined and ordered placed on file, certificates of insurance, furnished
<br />by the Clark Aerial Survey Corporation of Plymouth, Michigan.
<br />The Board next considered and approved the purchasing of an adding machine for use ir
<br />connection with accounting work involved in the Sewage Works Construction project.
<br />Excavation Bond, in the sum of $10,000.00, was examined and approved for Place & Co.,
<br />Inc., and Excavation Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00 for Sollitt Construction Company
<br />was also approved.
<br />Contractor's Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, was examined and approved for Place
<br />i' & Company, Inc.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
