237 <br />Both bids were taken under advisement, to be referred to the Department of Health <br />for their consideration and advice. <br />' A letter, under date of February 3, 1955, was received from the Disabled American <br />;Veterans, Inc., asking permission to conduct their annual for -get -me -not sale on the <br />'downtown streets on May 20th and May 21st. Permission was so granted. <br />• <br />0 <br />• <br />Report of Inspector of Weights and Measures for the month of January, was examined <br />and ordered filed. <br />There being no other business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />.!at ll:LL0 A. M. <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />February 9, 1955 <br />A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in accordance with legal <br />'notice of hearings on Wednesday evening, February 9, 1955, at 6:30 P. M. CST., relative <br />to the Improvement Resolution No. 2801, Jefferson Boulevard - 34th Street - Washington <br />!Street - 35th Street from approximately two -hundred feet east of 26th Street to Logan <br />on Jefferson Boulevard, from Jefferson Boulevard to Washington Street on 34th Street; <br />'from 34th to 35th Street on Washington Street and from Washington Street to Oakerest <br />Drive on 35th Street, for the construction of a local sewer, <br />Meeting was opened by Chairman of the Board R. S. Andrysiak, by the introduction <br />�of Board members, and Paul L. Roelke, Civil Engineer of Wilbur H. Gartner and Associates,'' <br />Iand Richard B. Gartner. <br />The chairman then proceeded to explain in detail Barrett Law financing procedure <br />!and the procedure of petitioning for and remonstrating against public improvements, <br />following which he announced the estimated cost, pointing out to the assembled home- <br />owners that this estimate represents maximum cost and that competitive bidding will, <br />in all probability, lower the figure quoted. <br />The meeting was then opened for Informal discussion and examination of blueprints.' <br />There being no other matter for consideration at this time, the meeting adjourned.` <br />• <br />• <br />
