Minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />approved. Longwa.y and Eva L. Longway, for the consideration of $2900.00, the following <br />...described real estate: <br />Lot Numbered 7 and a lot or parcel of land 28 feet in <br />width, North and South, taken off of the entire South <br />• side of Lot Numbered 6, as shown on the recorded Plat <br />of Coquillard Woods Addition (Section "A") to the City <br />of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Warranty Deed was, accordingly, signed and notarized, and all papers pertaining to <br />the City's title were delivered to the City Attorney, for the consummation of the con- <br />veying of title. <br />A letter from Rev. C. J. Witucki, seeking permission for the barricading of streets, <br />at night only during festival operations, throughout the dates of July 18th to 25th <br />inclusive, and for the conducting of the Saint Casimir Church Annual Festival on those <br />dates insofar as the public streets are involved, was read and considered by the Board. <br />It is understood that Saint Casimir Church will provide public liability insurance to <br />• protect the parish and the City of South Bend, as heretofore provided for this annual <br />aff air. The Board granted authorization and directed the Clerk to so notify Rev. Witucki:: <br />The Taxicab License Affidavit of John L. Detzler was next given the Boardts con- <br />sideration. The Board set the hearing in this matter for I:Ionday, July 26, 1954, at <br />11:00 A. M. D.S.T. and ordered notice of hearing to be published in the South Bend Tribune, <br />Friday, July 16th. i. <br />The Mayor having ordered the repair of the sidewalk and curb immediately in front of <br />the City Hall, and a -. satisfactory quotation for the prompt installation of this urgently <br />needed improvement having been submitted for the Board's consideration, the Clerk was <br />. directed to proceed at once to accept the quotation and order the work to be done. <br />The Board read and concurred fully with letter written to the Executive Vice President <br />of the University of Notre Dame under date of July 9, 1954, over the signature of the <br />Chairman of the Board which reads as follows: <br />"This letter is pursuant to our several meetings with you and your <br />Attorney, 1;r. Louis Chapleau, in regard to an agreement of charges to <br />be made to the University for treating the University's sewage at our <br />Sep^✓age Treatment Plant located at Pin 1-1ook Park in South Bend, Indiana. <br />The University will furnish to the City a quarterly average adjusted <br />count, that is, a population count will be due on each <br />•population <br />January 15th, April 15th, July 15th, and October 15th of each year. <br />The City Sewage charge billing clerk will use the national institutional <br />water usage average of 80 gallons per capita per day multiplied by the <br />population count furnished by the University of Notre Dame to arrive at <br />a. total quarterly sewage volume. From this calculated volume a charge <br />based on the O dinancets established rate ,will be levied for such sewage <br />treatment. <br />Billingwill start the _month after the City of South Bend puts its Sewage <br />Treatment Plant into operation, provided however, that at such. time the <br />• <br />University sewers have been connected to the City's interceptor sewer system." <br />The delay in the repair of the Ironwood Drive Bridge next came to the attention of <br />the Board, and the Clerk was directed to notify Engineer Wm.
