(' <br />being made in the re -arrangement and re -setting of stop and go signals at various <br />locations in the City. The Board concurred that a substantial portion of the costs <br />for such materials should be assumed by the Traffic Engineerts Department. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: <br />Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, being present, brought to the attention of the <br />Board, his departmentis urgent need for an additional pick-up truck for the summer <br />months, because of the increased painting activities during this period. An arrange- <br />ment whereby such a truck can be obtained for this period at a very nominal rental <br />charge was presented to the Board and meeting with the Boardts approval, the Clerk <br />was directed to proceed with the rental of the needed equipment. <br />Engineer Miller next brought to the attention of the Board, the fact that the <br />construction of an underground vault by the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company on <br />Jefferson Boulevard necessitates the moving of the Gawthrop Courtesy Cab Stand at <br />that location temporarily to a location on the west side of Michigan Street immediately <br />north of Jefferson Boulevard. This temporary assignment of cab stand at this location <br />was approved by the Board. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION CONFIR1v'1ED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2776 - 1954 <br />For the improvement of SOUTH LANE STREET (EAST SIDE) under Improvement Resolution <br />No. 2776 - 1954, adopted May 24, 1954, from the south line of ;Western Avenue to the <br />north line of Ford Street by constructing a 5t cement concrete sidewalk. <br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the <br />premises and the Clerk of the Board having shorn proofs of publication of the notices <br />to property owners and the same having been found sufficient, the Board decides that <br />the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to <br />the estimated cost of the same as reported b1T the City Civil Engineer, therefore <br />• <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2776, 1954, duly passed by this Board on. <br />May 24, 1954, for the above improvement, be and the same is hereby in all things <br />confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made. <br />R.
