177 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2786 - 1954 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA: That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />THE ALLEY EAST OF WALNUT STREET FROM THE NORTH <br />LINE OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF WESTERN AVENUE <br />NORTH TO THE NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD RIGHT <br />OF WAY LINE. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />Lot Numbered 2 Susan M. Stokes Subdivision of <br />B.O.L. 96 <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 4th day of June and on <br />the llth day of June 1954, in the South Bend Tribune and Tri-County News. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 21st day of June 1954, at <br />10:00 A. M. C.S.T. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested <br />• in or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this lst day of June 1954- <br />R. S. Andrysiak <br />J. A. Bickel <br />I. A. Hurwich <br />Board of Public Works & Safety <br />Excavation Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, for W. T. Otterstein and <br />• Joseph W. Turnock were examined and approved by the Board. <br />Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved <br />by the Board for the following: <br />Hartman Builders, Inc. <br />Casimer J. Libertowski <br />Robert E. Metzger <br />Steven A. Molenda <br />Alonzo Wynns <br />• <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: <br />The Board approved the installation of S-T-O-P signs at the following locations: <br />E. Side of Franklin Street on the north side of Exit Drive <br />of Sears Roebuck lot <br />Southwest corner of Train Street at Park Lane <br />Southwest corner of Clinton Street at East Sample Street. <br />The Traffic Engineerts Department being urgently in need of 1000 lineal <br />feet of 2-inch galvanized conduit, the Board directed the Clerk to proceed with the <br />purchase without delay, obtaining best delivery available. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 11:05 A.
