pl- <br />154 <br />a <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: <br />Street Commissioner, H. M. Tomlinson, was present and brought to the attention of <br />the Board, an emergency situation in the 1000 block of Burns Street where, for a distanc <br />of eighty feet or more, the sewer the has broken and sewage is being forced up onto <br />the street and surrounding surface. Wilbur H. Gartner of the engineering firm of <br />Wilbur H. Gartner and Associates, being present, the Board directed that his organizatio <br />investigat& this situation and furnish the Board with a report and estimate of cost to <br />restore this sewer at the earliest possible date. <br />The Board approved the installation o S-T-O-P signs on Cedar Street at St. Louis <br />Boulevard. <br />Chairman of the Board, R. S. Andrysiak, then announced the time as 11:00 o'clock <br />and proceeded with the opening of bids to supply the Street Department with motor <br />equipment, in accordance with legal advertising, as follows: <br />L . 0. A non -collusion affidavit <br />and bid bond in the amount of <br />$1500.00 accompanied the bid. <br />1 - Model 75A Michigan Tractor Shovel as per <br />specifications... $11,050.00 <br />Allowance on Case Tractor ..................... 3,000.00 <br />All of the above bids were taken under advisement, decision and award of contrac <br />to be made at the next regular meeting of the Board. <br />Bids received and opened at the regular meeting of the Board, Monday, March 29, <br />1954, for the supplying of a tractor with bulldozer blade, were again held in <br />abeyance by the Board for further study. <br />Excavatorts Bond, in the sum of $10,000.00, binding Colpaert Realty Corporation, <br />as principal, and the New Amsterdam Casualty Company, as sureties, was examined <br />and approved by the Board. <br />0 <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />
