152 <br />No.2 That it is deemed and desired necessary to vacate the alley East of <br />Lot One hundred thirty two (132), the alley south of Lot One hundred thirty <br />six (136), and the alley lying Northeast and adjacent to Lot one hundred <br />thirty two (132), One hundred thirty three (133), One hundred thirty four <br />(134) and, One Hundred thirty five (135) all as shown on the recorded plat <br />of McKinley Terrace Addition, legally described as follows: <br />Beginning at the southwest corner of lot 136 McKinley Terrace Addition; thence <br />easterly along the southerly line of said lot 136 a distance of 178.53 ft. <br />to the southeast corner of said lot 136; thence south along the east line <br />of McKinley terrace Addition, a distance of 240.34 ft.; thence west 20 ft. <br />to the southeast corner of lot 132; thence north along the east line of said <br />lot 132, a distance of 144.38 ft. to the northerly line of lot 132; thence <br />northwesterly along the northerly line of lots 132 and 133, a.distance of <br />11.34 ft. to northeast corner of lot 134; thence still northwesterly along <br />the northerly line of lot 134, a distance of 21.83 ft. to the southeasterly <br />corner of lot 135; thence northeasterly along the easterly line of lot 135 <br />a distance of 57 ft. to the northeast corner of lot 135; thence northwesterly <br />along the northerly line of lot 135 a distance of 11- ft. to the easterly <br />line of Manchester Drive; thence northeasterly along the easterly line of <br />Manchester Drive a distance of 20 ft. to the place of beginn-ing. <br />No. 3 That it is deemed and desired necessary to open, extend and re -locate <br />Sorin Street, from Preston Drive to the East line of recorded McKinley Terrace <br />Addition to the City of South Bend, on property legally described as follows: <br />Beginning on the east line of McKinley Terrace Addition at a point 150 ft. <br />north of the northeast corner of lot 22 McKinley Terrace Addition; thence west <br />125 ft. to the easterly line of Preston Drive, produced north, thence south <br />10 ft. to the easterly line of said Preston Drive; thence northwesterly <br />along the easterly line of Preston Drive, a distance of 95 ft. to a point <br />of the north line of Sorin Street in McKinley Terrace, Section "A" produced <br />west; thence east 188 ft. to the place of beginning. <br />No.l_ That the property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected in <br />the City of South Bend by the above said vacation of streets and alleys and <br />re -location, opening, and extension of Sorin Street as above described, is known <br />and described as the ground herein proposed to be condemned and appropriated <br />therefor and are also all the 1•ots and lands lying within the recorded McKinley <br />Terrace Addition which Addition is on file in this Board of Public Works. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />Lots Numbered 22, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, <br />299, 384, and 385 in McKinley Terrace Addition. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 9th day of April and on the <br />16th day of April, 1954, in the South Bend Tribune and Tri-County News. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 26th day of April, 1954, at <br />_11:00 A. Bickel <br />Board of Public Works & Safety. <br />A Quit -Claim Deed from Place & Company,Inc., bearing date of March 29, 1954, <br />was examined and referred to the City Engineer for checking and report, in the matter <br />of legal description of the area involved. This conveyance pertains to the re -location <br />of Sorin Street, from Preston Drive to the east line of McKinley Terrace Addition. <br />The Board next considered the recommendation of the Board of Public Health for <br />the acceptance of the bid of Remington -Rand, Inc., in connection with the micro -filming <br />of records and micro -filming equipment required by the Department of Public Health. <br />The matter was given some discussion and the awarding of contract was deferred for <br />further study. <br />The payment of claim of Thos. D. Nolan on the basis of Final Estimate, was next <br />considered and the decision made to correct all four copies of the Final Estimate forms <br />to coincide with the final claim form, showing deduction of $53.70, representing the <br />South Side Electric Companyts claim for labor and court costs. The Thos. D. Nolan <br />claim will then be in readiness for presentation for payment at the next regular <br />meeting of the Board. <br />Ll <br />
