139 <br />• <br />0 <br />• <br />In the matter of the request of the Sollitt Construction Company, Inc., for use of ji <br />certain property, owned jointly by the Department of Public Parks and the Water Works, j <br />along the N.Y.C.R.R. right-of-way and Angela Boulevard, known as Brownsfield Park, for j <br />the purpose of unloading and storage carload shipments of materials and equipment; the <br />Board wasinformed that no objection is made by either the Water Works or the Park <br />Department, and Sollitt Construction Co., Inc., is to be so advised. <br />The claim of Thos D. Nolan, Contractor, Louisville, Kentucky, in the sum of $16,811.90 <br />was given further consideration and the Clerk was directed to write this contractor, ex'76 <br />plaining basis on which check in final settlement will be rendered. <br />The Board next took the following action: <br />Under Section 48-1233 of Burrnsl Indiana Statutes, the City Engineer is employed in <br />la supervisory capacity in the Bewage Disposal Plant, and is to be paid the additional <br />sum of $1,000.00 per year for such services, subject to approval and appropriation <br />by the Common Council. <br />i <br />j Contract Bond in the sum of $109,305.00, binding H. W. Hunter, 114 E. Garro Street, <br />Plymouth, Indiana, as principal, and the United Pacific Insurance Company of Tacoma, <br />Washington as Surety, was examined and approved by the Board. <br />Contractorls Combination Bid Bond and Bond for Construction in the penal sum of <br />$262,625.00, binding G. W. Falcon, Evanston, Illinois as principal, and Indemnity <br />31nsurance Company of North America, as surety, was examined and approved by the Board. <br />The report of Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, concerning personal call made on the <br />Malleable Steel Range Company, concerning the driving of trucks over the sidewalk on <br />the East Side of Cherry Street, was read and ordered filed. <br />Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, reported the installation of "YIELD RIGHT-OF-WAY11 <br />signs at the following locations and was approved by the Board: <br />On Bertrand at Bendix Drive <br />On Meade at Frederickson Street <br />On Gladstone at W. Washington <br />On Madison at Greenlawn Avenue <br />On St. Joseph Street for right turn into Farneman St. <br />On Sunnyside at N. Wayne and E. South Wayne Street <br />Oti Nilson Boulevard at Tuxedo Drive. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 12:20 noon. <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />
