<br />The Board next extended, for the year 1954, the use of city-owned/on west Calvert
<br />' for gardening purposes, to Mr. Bert Karpanski, resident property -owner of the adjoining
<br />premises.
<br />The Board next examined -
<br />The request of South Bend Chapter No. 65 Disabled American Veterans, for permission
<br />to conduct their annual Forget -Me -Not flower sale on Friday and Saturday, May 14th and
<br />15th. There being no conflicting assignment of these dates for such solicitation on
<br />the downtown street, the Board granted the desired permit and Chapter No. 6, D. A. V.
<br />is being so notified.
<br />A copy of letter, addressed to Mayor John A. Scott, by the Southmore Heights
<br />Mutual Housing Committee, over the signature of Alice D. Wolf, Secretary, and dated
<br />February 23, 1954, was examined and ordered placed on file.
<br />Contraotorts Combination Bid Bond and Bond for Construction, in the sum of-
<br />$266,94o.00, binding Independent Concrete Pipe Corporation as principal, and Indemnity
<br />Insurance Company of North American as surety, was examined and approved by the Board.
<br />Excavator's Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, binding Louis M. Seago, Jr., as
<br />principal and American States Insurance Company as surety, was examined and approved
<br />by the Board.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned
<br />at 11:20 A. M.
