d <br />w._ 129 <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 12:00 otclock noon. <br />SPECIAL MEETING ;± <br />February 9, 1954 <br />j <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in the office of the Board <br />at 2:15 P.M., Tuesday, February 9, 1954, for the purpose of a hearing relative to <br />';application of Jacob Moore for taxicab driverts license, original application having <br />libeen referred to this Board, because of questionable affidavits. Board member I. A. <br />!; Hurwich was absent. <br />Jacob D. Moore, being present, placed with the Board affidavits of bona fide <br />ljhouseholders, as requested by the Board in regular meeting, Monday February 8, 1954. <br />IThe Board examined the affidavits and finding them to be in order, authorized the City <br />!Controller to provide the license applied for. <br />=j Chairman of the Board, R. S. Andrysiak, impressed upon the taxi driver the <br />• `!responsibility he assumes in transporting the public, and the confidence the Controller <br />Hand the Board are obliged to place in his driving ability, and good character, in the <br />issuing of the license. j! <br />lThe Board next examined <br />Contractor's Combination Bid Bond and Bond for Construction, dated February 9, 1954,1 <br />in the sum of $5,587,044.00, binding Sollitt Construction Co., Inc. and the Indemnity <br />j.Insurance Company of North America, for the construction of the Sewage Disposal Plant. <br />!!The Board, finding after consultation with Attorney Russell C. Kuehl, this bond to be <br />satisfactory, approved the bond.
