<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, November 23, 1953s
<br />at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read

<br />First appeared before the Board, Captain Hugh I. Turner, of the Salvation Army,
<br />requesting permission to construct two small booths to house the volunteer bell ringers
<br />throughout the Christmas merchandizing period. The Board granted permission With the
<br />stipulation that the Captain is to contact the management of the stores before which
<br />the Salvation Army intends to maintain their soliciting during this period, and secure
<br />the management's permission, in addition to permission granted by the Board, before
<br />setting up these booths.

<br />Next appeared before the Board, a citizen interested in the purchase of lots
<br />belonging to the City of South Bend, on the north side of the St. Joseph river in the
<br />vicinity of Twyckenham bridge. Inasmuch as the property line of these lots extends
<br />into the river levee, it was deemed inadvisable for the City to dispose of this propert
<br />and upon the recommendation of the City Engineer, the Board declined to consider the
<br />sale of these lots at this time.
<br />DEDICATION
<br />WHEREAS,a plat with dedication of streets and alleys, and utility easements
<br />indicated thereon is now presented to the Board, by Russell F. Hartman, of Hartman
<br />Builders, Inc., and his attorney, F. Jay Nimtz, to be known as Lincoln Plaza Second
<br />Addition, an addition to South Bend, Indiana.
<br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works
<br />and Safety, and recorded in Book No.131 , Page No.16ye, in the office of the St. Joseph
<br />County Recorder.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to
<br />the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on
<br />behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />DEDICATION
<br />WHEREAS, a dedication of a tract, the south half of Keller Street in the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, is now presented to the Board to be used as a public street, and
<br />this dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety, and
<br />recorded in Book No.i31, Page No,2{!;, in the office of the St. Joseph County Recorder,
<br />AND
<br />Dedication of part of Elwood Avenue, between Kenmore Street and Bendix Drive, and
<br />recorded in Book No. t3i , Page No.,t67, in the office of the St. Joseph County Recorder,
<br />AND
<br />Dedication of the West Twenty Feet of Bendix Avenue, between Elwood Avenue and
<br />Keller Street, and recorded in Book No• j31, Page No.a6&' in the office of the St. Joseph
