<br />The time being 11:25 A. M. the Board then recessed to take up further business at

<br />Reconvening at 1:00 P. M., the Board took up the matter of the petition made by
<br />Attorney Irving J. Smith on behalf of Robertson Brothers Department Store. In view of
<br />the serious traffic problem presented, the Board rejected the petition and forbids the
<br />capping of the five parking meters and the blockading of this space with the reindeer
<br />exhibit planned by the petitioner.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned]
<br />at 1:15 P.M.

<br />Certificate of Completion was furnished by civil engineer, Wilbur H. Gartner, of
<br />the contract between the City of South Bend, Indiana, Owner, and the Reed Construction.
<br />Company, Inc., Contractor, for the construction of the Pavement improvement on LAWTON
<br />STREET, from the west line of Olive Street to the east line of Washington Street, under
<br />Improvement Resolution No. 2759, - 1953, in accordance with the plans and specifications
<br />for this project.

<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bond,
<br />Indiana, that the Final Estimate and Primary Assessment Roll submitted to the Board by t
<br />the City Civil Engineer or his duly authorized representative on.this 16th day of
<br />November 1953, on the improvement known as the LAWTON STREET PAVEMENT, as described in
<br />Improvement Resolution No. 2759, passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety on
<br />June 29, 1953, and confirmed by said Board on August 32 1953, be and the same is hereby
<br />adopted, and the Clerk of this Board is hereby request to give notice of the hearing of
<br />Special Benefits on said improvement, as required by Section N.111 or 120 of an Act
<br />entitled, "Am Act Concerning Municipal Corporations" approved March 6, 1905.
