<br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2765 - 1953
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by
<br />the Board of Public Works and Safety for the vacation of the alley between CAROLINE j
<br />STREET AND ELDORA COURT FROM THE NORTH LINE OF DELBERT COURT TO THE SOUTH LINE OF THE E
<br />ALLEY NORTH OF DELBERT COURT, under Vacation Resolution No..27b5. The Clerk of the
<br />(Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared
<br />and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded
<br />and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finally adopted and the said alley
<br />be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll cover -
<br />ling -the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties.

<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT:
<br />II Miss Virginia Guthrie, Executive Secretary of the South Bend Civic Planning
<br />1Association, being present, brought to the attention of the Board, the need for L-Turn
<br />;indicating signs for traffic turning off LaSalle Avenue on to Main Street, and off Main
<br />�IStreet on to Colfax Avenue. The Board directed Traffic Engineer E. H. Miller to inves-
<br />j tigate and report.
<br />Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, reported to the Board, relative to the signboards j
<br />. located at South Bend Avenue and Burns Street, that from the traffic standpoint, there
<br />is no objection to the location of these signboards, against which a petition was filed
<br />with the Board at its regular meeting, October 26, 1953. This matter, having been j
<br />found to be under the consideration of the City Plan Commission and the Common Council,
<br />with a view to re -zoning, the Board, thereupon, dismissed.]
<br />The Board next examined and approved dedication and plat of survey and grant of
<br />Ifs ewer easement on Lots 60 and 61, Edison Park Addition, as submitted by Hubert L. Farmer
<br />and Wilna I. Farmer, husband and wife, and Wilbur H. Gartner and Associates, Engineers. j

<br />Construction Company as principal, and National Surety Corporation of New York as surety,',
