Contractor should bid the paver <br />specified and can submit substitutions for approval after award, when all parties can <br />approve a specific type and color. <br />Question 3 Can Section XXIX. PLAZA PAVERS (NON -PERMEABLE) Polymeric Joint Sand is <br />amended to include Evolution" polymeric sand which contains less than 2% fines, <br />manufactured from ground granite, and encourages flooding after compaction as opposed <br />to light watering applications. The City, Engineer, and Contractor will hold a pre -construction meeting following <br />award of the contract. The date of the Notice to Proceed will be agreed at that meeting, but <br />must be no later than April30, 2018. <br />3. Contractor shall provide a schedule to the Owner prior to beginning any work on the <br />site. <br />3.02 Special Provisions, Section XXIX, Plaza Pavers (Non -Permeable), Item B, No.3: <br />3. REVISE: 8"xl6" Type I pavers shall be laid in a herringbone pattern with 8"xl6" Type 2 <br />paver soldier course/banding as shown on the plans. The pavers shall be laid in such a manner <br />that the observed pattern is maintained and the joints between the pavers do not exceed 0.32 <br />cm. The gaps at the edge of the paved surface shall be filled with standard edge pieces or with <br />pavers cut to fit.
