588 <br />Bidding Schedule Continued - <br />TOTAL BASE BID - DIVISIONS A AND B-------:------------------------015,b05.00. <br />Cashierts check for $600.00 and Non -Collusion Affidavit properly executed accompanied . <br />the bid. <br />Bid was taken under advisement. <br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission recommending the vacation of <br />that portion of the first alley West of Kaley Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />which is located between the north line of Colfax Avenue and the southerly line of <br />Kankakee Street in the City of South Bend, indianat and vacation of walk way between <br />lots 18 and 1:.E.9 in Swanson Park Fourth.Addition. These were referred to the City Engineer <br />for further investigation. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: <br />The Traffic Engineerts need for three 2-way 3-section underground feed traffic <br />signal heads for 4-inch post mounting was brought to the attention of the Board, and the <br />Clerk was directed to purchase the required equipment. <br />The Board next considered the request of Mr. Steve J. Karras for permission to con- <br />duct an advertising display throughout the City in the form of the famous horse-drawn <br />beer truck of Anheuser-Busch of St. Louis, for datesof June 28, 29th and July 1st. <br />Permission was granted by the Board providing the firm of Anheuser-Busch and their <br />local representive assumes the responsibility for maintaining the street in clean <br />condition throughout the period of this display. <br />Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were approved by the Board, <br />binding the following contractors: <br />Harry F. Garling • <br />Dan C . Harman" <br />Harold S. Mather <br />Stanley J. Waehowiak <br />Excavatorts Bonds, in the sums of $10,000.00, binding Colpaert Realty Company <br />as principal,. -was examined and approved by the Board, and $5,000.00 binding Wallace <br />Mitchell, as principal, was approved. <br />Excavation Bond for Sollitt Construction Company for $1,000.00 was also examined <br />and approved by the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:40 A.
