A. Farabaugh and representatives of the New York
Central Railroad. Attorney Farabaugh introduced Division Supt. Fleming and Trainmaster.
Bell, and announced that these gentlemen had worked out a solution of the problem from
the New York Central's standp6int. Supt. Fleming then placed a blueprint of their
yards layout upon the table and stated that effective as of Wednesday, February 4th,
switching operations have been transferred to JK tower, approximately a mile west of
the Olive -Sample Street crossing.
jRepresentatives of both railroads pointed out that the improved switching operation
has involved considerable expense to the railroads because of added personnel and
installations.
The matter of the appointment of the suggested committee to maintain a check on
performance and serve as a clearing house on complaints was again brought up by Attorney:'
Beamer. The Board named E. H. Miller, Traffic Engineer, as the Cityts representative,
the representatives for the railroads to be B. F. Seeberger, New York Central Freight
Agent, and Leo L. Thompson, Freight Agent for the Grand Trunk Western.
The Board expressed their pleasure and satisfaction with the arrangements now in
effect and agreeable settlement of along standing controversy.
It now being the time set for the opening of bids, the chairman so announced and
proceeded therewith, as follows:
SCHERIVIAN SCHAUS FREEMAN CO.,
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
Upon opening this bid.it failed to carry a completed non -collusion
affidavit and was, accordingly, rejected.
BEN MEDOW INC . ,
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
1953 Plymouth, Cambridge, Business Coupe
Heaterand Defroster ------------------
Less 150 discount ---------------------
A Non -Collusion Affidavit and
and Certified Check accompanied
the bid.
$1649.15
245.00
' 5
Less trade-in allowance on 1947 Dodge - 112.00
qi292.77
BEN MEDOIN, INC.,
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
1953 Dodge idiodel Ka152 22 Ton Cab and
Chassis with specifications as
perproposal -------------------------
LessDiscount ------------------------
TEETER SALES & SERVICE,
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
1 GIVIC Model 453-30, Year 1953 Cab and
Chassis, specifications as per
proposal------------------------
lessdiscount --------------------
Tax-----------------------------
Freightetc.---------------------
Netless tax --------------------
FAVORITE EQUIPMENT CO.,
OAK PARK, ILLINOIS.
1 Dempster Dempster Hoisting Unit as per
Specifications on proposal-----------
3 3 cubic yard Bottom Dumping Hoppers
@ $640.46-----------
1 3 cubic yard Bottom Dumping Hopper ---
All bids were taken under advisement.
A Non -Collusion Affidavit and
Certified Check accompanied the
bid.
$3264. 25
751.50
$2532 • f 7
A Non -Collusion Affidavit and
Certified Check for $340.63
accompanied the bid.
06o6.27
540.9
530b5.33
223.23
117.70
0406-26
$3183.03
A Non -Collusion Affidavit and
Surety Bond accompanied the bid.
$3357.00
1921.36
600.00
