Middlefield Avenue from the North line of Ardmore Trail to the South line of <br />Grove Street and from the North line of Grove Street to the South line of Elwood <br />Avenue; <br />2. Edison Avenue from the North line of Ardmore Trail to the South Line of Grove <br />Street and from the North Line of Grove Street to the South line of Elwood Avenue; <br />3. Calhoun Street from the East line of Woodland Avenue to the West line of Edison <br />Avenue; <br />4. Lawrence Street from the East Line of Woodland Avenue to the West Line of Edison <br />Avenue; <br />5. Evans Street from the East line fo Woodland Avenue to the West line of Edison <br />Avenue; <br />6. All of that certain fourteen (14t) foot alley situate one -hundred twenty-eight <br />(128 t ) feet north of the North line -of Ardmore Trail from the East line of Woodland <br />Avenue to the west line of Edison Avenue; <br />7. All of that certain fourteen (14) foot alley situate one -hundred twenty-eight <br />feet South of the South line of Elwood Avenue from the East line of Woodland Avenue <br />to the West line of Edison Avenue; <br />8. All of that certain alley situate one -hundred twenty-eight (128) feet East of <br />the East line of Woodland Avenue from a point one -hundred twenty-eight (128) feet <br />North of the North line of Ardmore Trail to the South line of Grove Street and from <br />the North line of Grove Street to a point one -hundred twenty-eight (128) feet South <br />of the South line of Elwood Avenue; AND <br />9. All of that certain alley situate one -hundred twenty-eight (128) feet west of <br />the West line of Edison Avenue from a point one -hundred twenty-eight (128) feet <br />North of the North line of Ardmore Trail to the South line of Grove Street and from <br />the North line of Grove Street to a point one hundred twenty-eight (128) feet <br />South of the South line of Elwood Avenue, under Vacation Resolution No. 2736. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several <br />lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said <br />roll. The Board, therefore, decided to take final action on said assessment roll and <br />declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and <br />the proceedings closed and the streets and alleys vacated upon receipt of the amount of <br />benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings <br />had with reference to said alleys and street vacation are hereby sustained. <br />The Board'then examined a drawing of West Haven Addition, submitted for the Portage <br />Realty Corporation, and bearing the g approval off the City Planning Commission, under <br />date of Recorded in St. Jos. CsS2. unty Recornder s OfficeuBook -1 Pageqp <br />t signed by the Board. <br />Ar petition calling for the improvement of Gertrude Street from Ewing Avenue to <br />Prairie Avenue by the construction of a local sewer was examined by the Board and <br />referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO.2740 - 1952 <br />Attorney W. Burt Ford, being present, made inquiry concerning Vacation Resolution <br />No. 2740, covering the West 30 feet of Ernsberger Street from the St. Joseph River South <br />to the intersection of this former street with Ironwood Drive. Considerable discussion <br />ensued and a verbal report was given by City Engineer Andrysiak relative to the in- <br />vestigation made by Mr. Andrysiak of these premises. The Engineer reported the presence <br />of two electrical installations carrying high voltage (400OV), both of which would be <br />highly dangerous to the public, and removal of which would be extremely costly. Such <br />removal would be absolutely necessary should the City retain this footage and permit <br />public access to the area. On a two to one vote, the Board then had hearing on resoluti <br />heretofore adopted by the Board of Public Works and Safety for the vacation of the <br />WEST THIRTY 0 0t) FEET OF ERNSBERGER STREET FROM THE ST. JOSEPH RIVER SOUTH TO A. POINT <br />WHERE SUCH FORMER STREET INTERSECTS IRONWOOD DRIVE under Vacation Resolution No. 2740. <br />The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remon- <br />strators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, <br />it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finally <br />adopted and the said portion of the street be vacated. The Engineering department is <br />directed to prepare an'assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award <br />of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
