Michigan Street, and Indiana Bell Telephone Company, asking permission of the <br />Board to install a telephone booth adjacent to the public sidewalk at this South <br />Michigan Street location. There being no objection offered by any member of the Board, <br />permission was thereupon granted. <br />James E. Langham and Leonard Barkowski, representing Phillips Petroleum Company, <br />appeared before the Board and acquainted the Board with the improved facilities of <br />their organization in South Bend with a view to supplying city fleet gasoline ana oil <br />needs. <br />i Attorney Burt Ford next appeared before the Board and presented the Dedication <br />of an alley in Whitcomb & Keller's Third Sunnymede Addition on the part of General <br />Outdoor Advertising Co., Inc. The Board examined the dedication and proceeded with <br />its acceptance, to become effective simultaneously with the vacation of the fourteen <br />jfoot alley presently situated between lots 713 and 714, as set forth in the dedication. <br />j VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2739 - 1952 <br />. This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted <br />j by the Board of Public Works and Safety for the vacation of THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH <br />AND SOUTH FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO THE GRAND TRUNK WESTERN RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY SITUAq <br />BETWEEN LOTS NU10ERED 713 and 714 WHI TC OMB AND KELLER' S THIRD SUNNYMEDE ADDITION TO <br />SOUTH BEND, under Vacation Resolution No. 2739. <br />The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remon- <br />strators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, <br />it was moved , seconded and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finally <br />adopted and the said alley be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to pre- <br />pare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to <br />. the surrounding properties. <br />
