9 <br />It was agreed that the situation presents a definite contingency, and funds being <br />available for such purpose, the Board authorized the necessary heating and directed the <br />Clerk to proceed to advertise for bids for its installation. <br />1 <br />Mr. Tomlinson next mentioned his need for anew tar kettle and accessories in <br />connection with the program of sealing concrete streets, which he expects soon to get <br />underway. <br />The probable costs were considered and purchase of the tar kettle and needed equip- <br />• <br />ment was ordered by the Board. <br />A letter from Mayor John A. Scott concerning petition for sidewalks, was referred by <br />the Board to Street Commissioner Tomlinson, with the request that he contact Notre Dame <br />University to obtain the required easement. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2737 - 1952 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />i <br />0 <br />CARROLL STREET FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF FARNEMAN AVENUE, THENCE <br />SOUTHERLY ALONG SAID CARROLL STREET A DISTANCE OF 81.6 FEET <br />MORE OR LESS, BEING THE TERMINATION OF SAID CARROLL STREET IN <br />SAID LOCALITY. <br />i AMEN <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: !) <br />Lot Number 51 Beverly Heights 3rd Addition. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 26th day of September and on j <br />the 3rd day of October, 1952 in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News. j! <br />I' • <br />This Board at its office in the City Hall on the 13th day of October, 1952 at 11:00` <br />A. R.
