492 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2?31 - 1952 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of, the vacation the alley west <br />of Jackson Street from Western Avenue to the first alley south, under vacation Resolution <br />No. 2?31. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrances were filed. The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several: <br />lots have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, <br />therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all <br />things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the proceedings closed, <br />and the portion of the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments <br />from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to <br />said alley vacation are hereby sustained. <br />The Board again examined bids opened at the regular meeting of August 25th and <br />awarded contracts as follows: <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE IMPROVE�JENT RESOLUTION NO.2722 - 1952 • <br />The Reed Construction Company was awarded the contract for the improvement of <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE from the east line of Ironwood Drive to the east curb line of Tuxedo <br />Drive in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2722, 1952, Passed by this Board <br />on July 71 1952 and confirmed by this Board on Aug. ll�h, 19529 as they submitted the <br />lowest and best bid for a Class C-Type 3-Bituminous Concrete AH Pavement. <br />WILSON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2724 - 1952 <br />The Reed Construction Company was awarded the contract for the improvement of <br />WILSON AVENUE from the east line of Ironwood Drive to the west line of Tuxedo Drive in • <br />accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 27231 1952, passed by this Board on July 7, <br />1952, and confirmed by this Board on August 11, 1952, as they submitted the lowest and <br />best bid for a Class C Type 3 Pavement. <br />CHALFANT STREET IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO.2724 - 1952 <br />The Rieth-Riley Construction Company was awarded the contract for the improvement <br />of CHALFANT STREET from the east line of Walsh Street to the west line of Jacob Street it <br />in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2724, 1952, passed by this Board on July <br />7th, 1952 and confirmed by this Board on August 11, 1952, as they submitted the lowest 11 <br />and best bid for a Class C - Type 1 Pavement. aj <br />HUMBOLDT STREET IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO.2725 - 1952 1 • <br />In the matter of Bids for the improvement of HUMBOLDT STREET from the west line <br />of Fremont Street to the alley west of Meade Street in accordance with Improvement <br />Resolution No. 2725, 1952, passed by this Board on July 7, 1952, and confirmed by this <br />Board on August 11, 1952, after examining all Bids submitted to the Board on August <br />25th, 1952, it was found that all bids received were over the Engineerts Estimate, <br />therefore no award was made. <br />NAPOLEON BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2714 " 1952 11 <br />In the matter of the Bids for the improvement of NAPOLEON BOULEVARD from the east <br />line of Harter Heights Addition to the west line of Notre Dame Avenue in accordance i • <br />with Improvement Resolution No. 2714, 1952, passed by this Board on May 12, 1952, and <br />confirmed by this Board on August 4, 1952, after examining all Bids submitted to the <br />Board on August 25th, it was found that all bids received were over the Engineerts <br />Estimate, therefore no award was made. <br />CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2677 - 1951 <br />Certificate of Completion was furnished by the civil engineer, Wilbur H. Gartner, <br />accompanied by Contractorts Completion Affidavit of the contract between the City of <br />South Bend, Owner, and the Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Contractor, for the <br />construction of the pavement improvement on BULLA STREET from the West line of Portage <br />Avenue to the west line of Medora Street (south) under Improvement Resolution No. 2677, <br />1951, has been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications for this / <br />project, was examined by the Board and ordered filed. <br />CERTIFICATION OF COMPLETION <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2716- 1952 <br />Certificate of completion was.furnished by the civil engineer, Wilbur H. Gartner, j <br />accompanied by Contractor's Completion Affidavit of the contract between the City of I <br />South Bend, Owner, and Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Contractor, for the construtio� <br />of the pavement improvement on FELLOWS STREET from the south line of Ewing Avenue to <br />the north line of Altgeld Street under Improvement. Resolution No. 2716, 1952, has been • <br />completed in accordance with the plans and specifications for this project, was examine <br />by the Board and ordered filed. <br />
