for repair of sewer plugged and damaged by this firm in their operations in the Swanson <br />Park Addition was considered by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: The report of Traffic Engineer, Ernest H. Miller, on the repair of <br />the New York Central Railroad crossings at Walnut, Harris, Sample and Olive Streets, <br />and Twyckenham Drive was read by the Board and ordered filed. <br />The report furnished by the Traffic Engineer in connection with petition to <br />restore parking on theeast side of Michigan Street at the approach half -block to Western • <br />Avenue was read and considered by the Board, and petition was accordingly denied. <br />Taxi operator, George Ashcraf t, appeared before the Board, asking permission <br />for a taxi stand at 427 Chapin Street. In the absence of Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, <br />the'Board granted a temporary permit only, and the granting of a regular permit was held Ln <br />abeyance pending appotunity for the investigation and report of the Traffic Engineer. <br />The Board directed the Traffic Department to provide the necessary signs for this tempo- <br />rary taxi stand. <br />A petition for the extending of the Lincolnway West bus line West along <br />Lincolnway West to Sheridan Avenue was presented to the Board by Russell F. Hartman, <br />President of Hartmants, Inc. of South Benda • <br />The Board directed the Clerk to notify the Northern Indiana Transit, Inc. <br />of this request for the extension of bus routing, and John F. Martin, representing the <br />Northern Indiana Transit, Inc. being present, the Board asked and Mr. Martin agreed that <br />the bus companyts investigation and decision in the matter, will be available at the <br />next regular meeting of the Board Monday, September 15th. <br />A Trusteets Special Warranty Deed conveying the following described real <br />estate to be used for public street purposes, was next examined, to wit: No. 51723 <br />A part of the west one half (W2) of the northeast one quarter <br />(NEI) of Section fifteen (15) in township number thirty-seven (37)_ • <br />north, Range two (2) east bounded by a line running as follows: <br />Commencing in the east line of Olive Street in the City of South <br />Bend at a point thirteen hundred twenty-six and 40/100 (1326.40) <br />feet south of, and thirty (30) feet east of the north west corner <br />of said northeast quarter <br />Thence east ten hundred sixty-seven and 60/100ths (1067.60) feet. <br />Thence southerly to a line running east from Olive Street and <br />parallel to and sixty (60) feet south of the above described north <br />line of this strip of land, to a point ten hundred sixty seven and <br />84/100th (1067.84) feet east of the east line of Olive Street. • <br />Thence west on a line parallel to and sixty (60) feet south of <br />the above described north line of this strip of land ten hundred <br />sixty seven and 84/100th (1067.84) feet to the east line of Olive <br />Street <br />Thence north sixty (60) feet along the east line of Olive Street to <br />The place of beginning. <br />The above described parcel of land contains approximately 1.4706 <br />acres. <br />And the grantors, as Trustees as aforesaid, covenant that they are <br />lawfully seized of the said premises, and have good right to convey the same that as <br />such trustees they have not committed or suffered any act whereby the title to said <br />land has been, or will be in any manner encumbered or impaired, and that they will <br />warrant and defend the title thereto against any liens or encumbrances created or <br />suffered by them as such Trustees. <br />The foregoing conveyance is made in pursuance of the powers contained in <br />said Deed of Trust dated the 30th day of December A.D. 1919, as heretofore amended. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Trustees have hereunto set their hands and • <br />affixed their seals this 2nd day of September, A.D. 1952. <br />Joseph D.
