<br />It was brought to the Boardts attention by City Engineer, R. S. Andrysiak, that
<br />the repair of sewer at Riverside-and;Hudson Avenue, will be much more extensive than
<br />had been contemplated.
<br />i' The Board next examined the report of the civil engineering firm of Wilbur H.
<br />Gartner and Associates, and their tabulation of bids opened at the previous meeting for
<br />the construction of a bituminous concrete (AH) re -surface pavement on Miami Street from
<br />(Indiana Avenue to Ewing Avenue, and accepting the recommendation of the engineers,
<br />awarded the contract to the Reed Construction Company.

<br />.For the improvement of NAPOLEON BOULEVARD from the east line of Harter Heights
<br />Addition to the west line of Notre Dame Avenue by constructing a Class "C" Pavement,
<br />under Improvement Resolution No. 2714, 1952, adopted May 12, 1952 and first confirmed
<br />on June 9, 1952.
<br />No written remonstrance or remonstrances against said improvement bearing the
<br />signatures of fifty-one (51) percent or more of the resident property owners on said
<br />street to be improved, having been filed within the ten (10) day period following the
<br />date and time of the hearing on said improvement, therefore
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2714, 1952, duly adopted by this Board on
<br />May 12, 1952, and first confirmed on June 9, 1952, be and the same is in all things
<br />finally confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered made.

<br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ADOPTED - RESOLUTION NO.2714 - 1952
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that the Profiles, Drawings, Plans, General Details, Specificatinns and
<br />estimates approved by this Board on the 12th day of May, 1952, for the improvement of
<br />NAPOLEON BOULEVARD from the east line of Harter Heights Addition to the west line of
<br />Notre Dame Avenue by constructing a Class 110 Pavement,
<br />Be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the
<br />Department of Engineering of this Board.
<br />August 25, 1952, at the hour of 10:00 otclock A. M. CST, is hereby fixed as the
<br />time, and the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this
<br />City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open and
<br />consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the contraction
<br />of said work shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 otcloc
<br />A.M. CST of said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certified
<br />check, payable to the Treasurer of this City in the sum of two- and one-half per cent
<br />of the amount of his bid, or a bid bond for two and one-half per cent of the amount of
<br />his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said woik is awarded him.
<br />The clerk of this Board is hereby ordered, to give notice by two weekly publieatio
<br />of the time and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered for
<br />construction of said work. Said Clerk shall state in said notices, that each bidder
<br />shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bid bond for the above named amount, to
<br />insure the execution of this contract.
