um <br />March 24, 1952 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, March 24, 1952 at <br />10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />approved. Co. 79.13 Co -Operative Grocery Co. $19.80 <br />i <br />A petition for the cleaning of the sewer on North Meade Street from Western <br />Avenue to the New York Central Railroad tracks was read by the Board and referred to <br />Street Commissioner Tomlinson for early attention. <br />The Board next considered the transfer of funds, allotted to tree -trimming in the <br />• I budget, for the City Cemetery, to the fund set up for Repairs of Buildings and <br />Structures. The Board decided to present this transfer to the Common Council, when <br />and as soon as another transfer is requested, thereby reducing required advertising <br />costs. Additional funds are needed for repair of the iron fence surrounding the <br />Cemetery. <br />A resolution adopted by the River Park Business Ments Association was read by the <br />Board and referred to the Board of Water Commissioners for further consideration and <br />study. <br />The Board next examined drawings of the proposed new Colip Brothers, Building <br />at 114 W. Wayne Street, involving construction of basement under the walk in front <br />of this location. The Board approved the construction, subject to waiver by the <br />owner of the property to any claim for damages in the event of the widening,.of Wayne <br />Street at that location at any future date. <br />Attorney Russell C. Kuehl appeared before the Board on behalf of the Dependable <br />Disposal Co., and presented a new corrected contract in line with the suggestion <br />of the Board, following the hearing on this matter February 18, 1952. <br />The new contract contains one important stipulation, not appearing in the <br />previous contract, to -wit: The City shall have the option of terminating all contracts <br />with the contractor upon the giving of a six monthts notice in writing. The Board <br />approved the contract and it was delivered to the City Clerk, in person, for <br />presentation to the Common Council. <br />ENTRY OF PETITIONS PRESENTED <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety hereby receives and places on file the <br />Petition of ELMER H. DURHAM and twenty-eight others for thePAVE'MENT IMPROVEMENT on <br />KENMORE STREET from the sou'h line of Western Avenue to the north line of FORD STREET <br />AND <br />Petition of JAMES W. BATIG and fourteen others for the PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT on <br />ALLEYS BETWEEN FOX STREET, DONALD STREET, DALE AVENUE AND MIAMI STREET, AND <br />
