e e .6 December 3, 1951 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, December 3, 1951 at 930 A.M. Mr. Baer was absent. Minutes of the last Salary claims in the amount of $7,888.56 were meeting were read and approved. approved and ordered paid. Mr. Miller was granted permission to go Chicago's new traffic to Chicago on December 6th and.7th to study,i one-way system, and other traffic safety improvements,' mprovements. Harry Swanson, Inc., asking for the vacation of a portion of East Washington Avenue; a portion of Twenty-sixth Street; a portion of Twenty-fifth Street; the first north -south alley east of Tuxedo Drive from Washington 1 Street North a distance of 410 feet to Colfax Avenue; Twenty-fifth Street from the Northj line of Colfax Avenue North a distance of 133 feet; Twenty-sixth Street from the north iI line of Colfax Avenue North a distrance of 133 feet; the first north -south alley East of Tuxedo Drive from Colfax Avenue north a distance of 133 feet; the first -north -south allejf east of Twenty-fifth Street from the North line of Colfax Avenue north a distance of i 133 feet. This was referred to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. j { • The Board approved plans for street improvement on Sylvan Lane from Sample Street to Scenic Drive. E; VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2689 This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of a part of Klinger Street as shown on the Recorded Plat of Whitcomb & Keller's Beverly Heights 5th N Addition described as follows: Beginning at a point on the north line of Klinger Stree t Fifth (50) feettea� t of the southwest) 2nree o lot number 120 of said addition; thence easterly oz�/ntgi hsotii�at�'olo� no. 2of said addition; thence South 190 i5r East, twelve feet to a point due east of the place of beginning; thence west to the place • of beginning,.under Vacation Resolution No. 2689. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and now ritten re- monstrances were filed. The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of not- ices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several to rls and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. 11 The. Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the pro- ceedings closed, and the street vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessment" from the various property owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to, said street vacation are hereby sustained. .
