A survey of traffic conditions was made an( <br />it was found that traffic at this intersection is at times quite congested. Mr. Miller <br />informed the Board, however, that since the petition for this signal was received rather <br />late this year, it will be impossible, due to taterial shortages, to complete this in- <br />stallation during 1951. He feels, however, that it should be included in the 1952 insta: <br />lations. <br />BUSSES: A petition was received asking for the approval of the Board for an addition to <br />ibus service to the southwest section of the city. The bus route at present follows a <br />route north on Gladstone Avenue to Western Avenue then east on Western Avenue to center. <br />The petitioners ask that this route be altered so that the bus would travel north on <br />Gladstone to Western Avenue, on Western Avenue to Villagpway; north on Villageway to WasY� <br />ington; east on Washington to Sheridan; south on Sheridan to Western; then east on Wester <br />I <br />to center. This petition was referred to Northern Indiana Transit for t heir considerati� <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bond was approved and ordered filed for Belleville, <br />Lumber and Supply Company, <br />Excavation Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Leslie 0. Hawkins and Wallace <br />Mitchell. <br />A petition was received asking for the construction of a curb on Sheridan Avenue <br />from Western Avenue to Sample Street.
