334 <br />September 4, 1951 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Tuesday, September 4, <br />1951 at 10:00 a.m. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read <br />and approved. The Board directed that a letter be sent to these people informing them <br />that inasmuch as they did not name the railroad whose trains block the crossing, there <br />is little that can be done at this time. The Board further asked that the interested <br />persons realize that several railroads use that particular grade crossing and asked that <br />the name of the offending railroad be submitted together with the number of the train, <br />if possible. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Excavation Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Midland <br />Engineering Company, Inc.; and Northern Indiana Public Service Company. <br />Contractors' Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Chicago South Shore & South <br />Bend Railroad Company of Michigan City, Indiana; James F. Keller; Lawrence Poturalski; <br />William W. Taylor; and John C..VonBergen. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL <br />No. 2666s 1951 <br />Board of Public Works and Safety: <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />September 4, 1951 <br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and the clerk of the Board of <br />Public Works and Safety having proofs of publication of the notices to property owners <br />and the same having been found sufficient, therefore. <br />Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, that the Primary of Preliminary Assessment Roll adopted by the Board on the 13 <br />day of August, 1951, for the improvement of KENMORE STREET from north line of Western <br />Avenue to south line of Linden Avenue by constructing a Class "C" Type 1 - Cement Conre <br />Pavement be and the same is in all things confirmed. <br />Freda G.
