Koher, 2117 South Ironwood Drive appeared before the Board to present a <br />petition protesting against heavy truck traffic and lack of speed control signs on South <br />Ironwood Drive. This petition was referred to Mr. Miller for investigation and report. <br />j BUSSES: MR. Paul J. Swartz, 1612 South Bend Avenue, Mr. Stanley Miller, 1225 Black Oak <br />Drive and Arthur Fris-:k, 1241 Black Oak Drive appeared before the Board to present a pe- <br />tition asking for bus service to Wooded Estates, on South Bend°Avenue from Talbot Street <br />i to -Edison Road to Ironwood Drive. This petition was referred to the Northern Indiana <br />Transit, Incorporated, with the request for a study of the situation and a report to the <br />Board. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Excavation Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Thomas Szab <br />d b a Thomas Construction Company; and John Lidgard. <br />I Contractors' Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Allen's Nursery of LaPorte, <br />Indiana; George Curtis; Grant E. Stump; and Whitcomb & Keller, Incorporated. <br />• <br />The Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad Company was granted permission to n. <br />j run their work train East <br />on LaSalle Street from Main Street east at their yards from <br />a <br />September 4s to September 21, inclusive for using during their construction work. <br />` Complaints having been received again about conditions in the dumping area in the <br />vicinity of Falcon and Dundee Streets, a letter°was sent to Place and Company advising <br />them that unless the precautions outlined at their meeting with the Board on May 7, 1951, <br />are taken immediately and fully complied with and the land is completely filled in, it <br />>1 <br />will be necessary for the Board to consider closing the area for dumping.
