<br />Whereas, the Board of,Publie Works, did on the 13th day of August, 1951, adopt
<br />Preliminary Orders designating -Class "C" Cement Concrete as the kind of pavements for
<br />the improvement of RANDOLPH STREET from -the east line of Twyckenham Drive to the.west
<br />line of Robinson Street in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2643-1950, AND
<br />VINE STREET from the east line of Twenty-sixth Street to the west line of Twenty-seventh
<br />Street in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2672, 1951s AND
<br />TWENTIETH STREET from the south line of Mishawaka Avenue to the south line of Hammond &
<br />Whi.tcomb's Addition in accordance with Improvement Resolution 140. 2673-1951, passed by
<br />this Board on June 251 1951, and confirmed by this Board on July 23, 1951,
<br />Be It Resolved, That the Preliminary Orders are hereby in all things confirmed and
<br />said streets ordered paved with a Class "C" - Cement Concrete Pavements.

<br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the premises, the
<br />Boaidd, of Public Works and Safety decides that the bids of the Rieth-Riley Construction
<br />Company for the construction of the improvements known as RANDOLPH STREET PAVEMENT improve-
<br />ment according to Improvement Resolution No. 2643, 1950 is the lowest and best bid and that
<br />the contract to do said work be awarded to the Rieth-Riley Construction Company, said Bid,

<br />Therefor Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South '
<br />Bend, Indiana, that the bidsof the Rieth-Riley Construction Company for the construction
<br />of the improvements described in Improvement Resolutions Nos. 2643-1950, 1672 and 2673-
<br />1951, passed by this Board on June 25, 1951, and confirmed by this Board on July 23, 1951!
<br />be and the same are hereby adopted and that the City of South Bend, Indiana, thru its
<br />Mayor and Board of Public Works and Safety enter into a written contract with said Rieth-
<br />Riley Construction Company for the faithful executor of such work, according to said bids
<br />the detailed plans and specifications and the terms of said Resolutions, provided that be
<br />fore entering upon the performance of said contracts, said Rieth-Riley Construction Co.,
<br />shall give bond, in the amount equal to one hundred (100) per cent of the contract price
<br />for such work, with a Surety Company legally authorized to transact business in the State
<br />of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board, to secure the performance of such
<br />contracts, and shall jive a Maintenance Bond in the amount equal to fifty (50) per cent
<br />of the contract price for- such work, with a Surety Company legally authorized totransact
<br />business in the in the State of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board to
<br />warrant and quarantee the work, -material and condition of the pavements for.a period of
<br />
