That remonstrators are informed and verily believe that the adjoining real estate <br />in said Jefferson Heights Addition would be greatly enhanced in value if Marshall Street <br />were to be extended in a westerly direction to Ironwood Drive. Such extension of Marshall <br />Street would divide said lots in such a manner as to have a portion t he.reof north of I <br />Marshall Street to 'Wilson Street a distance of approximately 368.5 feet and a portion of <br />said lots would then lie south of Marshall Streetto Jefferson Boulevard a distance of <br />approximately 422 feet; <br />5. That remonstrators are desirous of dedicating to the City of South Bend, for <br />road purposes, a strip of land sixty (60) feet wide, north and south, to be extended in <br />an,easterly westerly direction from the present boundary of Marshall Street, providing <br />said Marshall Street is extended to Ironwood Drive. <br />i <br />6. After hearing all interested persons, it <br />was the decision of the Board to vacate the FIRST EAST -REST ALLEY SOUTH OF WASHINGTON, <br />from the east line of 24th Street, east a distance of 588 feet to the east line of Lots <br />No. 25 in Tuxedo Park, First.Addition and 42 in Tuxedo Park, Second Addition of Lots in <br />Jefferson Heights Addition <br />AND <br />The first East-West alley south of Wilson Street from the east line of 24th Street, east <br />a distance of 588 feet to the east line of Lots No. 9 and 24 in Tuxedo dark, First Addi- <br />tion of Lots in Jefferson Heights Addition, but to take under advisement the vacation <br />of Marshall Street from the west line of 24th Street, west a distance of 166 feet, heari: <br />was then continued until April 2 at 10:30 a.m. The above alley vacations were approved <br />with the condition that easements be provided for such utility lines as exist at' -the <br />present; time. <br />Mr. Paul Butler, Mr. Goheen, Mr. Harold Maurer, Architect, and Mr. Robert,Fitch <br />appeared before the Board to support their petition for vacating a part of East Marion <br />Street. The Board took no action as the matter is to be discussed with the City Enginee <br />before any decision is made. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Melton 0. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his Department were discussed. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to <br />his Department were discussed. <br />PARKING METER DEPARTMENT: Maurice C.
