<br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the promises, the BoarT
<br />of Public Works and Safety decides that the bid of the Rieth-Riley Construction Company
<br />for the construction of the improvement known as ALLEY BETWEEN CHAPIN AND KENDALL STREETS

<br />Bend, Indiana that the bid of the Rieth-Riley Construction Company for the construction
<br />of the improvement described in Improvement Resolution No. 2648, 1950 passed by this Board•
<br />on August 14, 1950 and confirmed by this Board on September 5, 1950, be and the same is
<br />hereby adopted and that the City of South Bend, Indiana, thru its Mayor and Board of Pub
<br />lie Works and Safety enter into a written contract with said Rieth-Riley Construction Com{
<br />pany, for the fkithful executor of such work, according to said bid, the detailed plans
<br />and specifications and the terms of said Resolution, provided that before entering upon
<br />the performance of said contract, said Rieth-Riley Construction Company, shall give bond,
<br />in the amount equal to one hundred (100) ;per cent of the contract price for such work,
<br />with a Surety Company legally authorized to transact business in the State of Indiana,
<br />as Surety, to the approval of this Board, to secure the performance of such contract, and
<br />shall give a Maintenance Bond in the amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract I
<br />price for such work, with a Surety Company legally authorized to transact business in thef
<br />State of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board to warrant and quarantee the
<br />work, material and condition of the pavement for a period of three (3) years, and to hold
