203 <br />BUSSES; The question of bus schedules was again discussed by the Board since complaints <br />have been received that the company was not fully maintaining their schedule and was fre- <br />quently passing up passengers who were awaiting transportation. Since the Mayor has al- <br />ready planned a conference with the bus company officials, further action on this matter <br />is <br />was withheld until the latter part of the week. <br />GARBAGE DISPOSAL: The Board discussed the garbage contract. A number of complaints have <br />as <br />!been received � <br />ved concerning the service as given by the Dependable Disposal Company. <br />It Dependable Disposal Company be notified,in writing, to have a repre- <br />• idetermined that the <br />sentative appear before the Board on Monday, October 30, 1950, at 1^1s00 a.m., to discuss <br />the matter of service with the Board. <br />!ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractorts Bond for William H. Burke was approved and orderer' <br />filed. <br />An Excavation Bond in the amount of $2,000 for the Burton Construction Company was <br />approved and ordered filed. <br />The Board approved sewer plans for Miami Road, GQlfview Lane, and East Chippewa Ave <br />- <br />Ilnue for the Crown Development Company in Twyckenham Hills, Section "D". <br />• I The Board approved grade,curb and pavement plans for South Brook Drive, Caroline <br />;Street and Privet Lane for the Crown Development Company in Twyckenham Hills Addition, <br />! Section "D". <br />The Board approved plans for street improvement on 25th, 27th, 28th and 29th Streets <br />i <br />The Board approved the established grade in the alley between 24th and 26th Streets; <br />-and between 26th and 29th Streets, <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2655 <br />R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of <br />damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the first alley <br />`south of Calvert Street from William Street to the west line of alley east of Williams- <br />, <br />(Street under Vacation Resolution No. 2655. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the <br />City Hall at 11-00 a.m., on the 13th day of November for the purpose of hearing and re- <br />ceiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said vacation, and <br />the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages <br />awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on <br />the 27th day of October and 3rd day of November, 1950, in the South Bend Daily Tribune <br />and the Mirror Press (Weekly). <br />• VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2656 <br />!� This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore -adopted by the( <br />Board of Public Works for the vacation of the first alley south of Fredrickson Street fro <br />!O'Brien Street to the east line of the north and south alley AND from the west line of th�D <br />Resolution No. 2 <br />;north and south alley to Huey Street under Vacation 656. The Clerk of <br />!the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appea�- <br />led and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded <br />'and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finally adopted and the said alley i <br />i. <br />The vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll coverin <br />the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />ll <br />• VACATION RESOLUTION 2657 <br />' This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by the <br />!Board of P blic Works for the vacation of the first alley south of Ford Street from Grant <br />Street to he east line of north and south alley AND from the west line of north and sout <br />!alley to Warren Street under Vacation Resolution No. 2657. The Clerk of the Board havir <br />shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared and no writ <br />- <br />iten remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimousl <br />j�carried that the said resolution be finally adopted and the said alleys be vacated. The <br />!!Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment <br />?of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2656 <br />R.
