<br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the promises, the Boar'
<br />• of Public Works and Safety decides that the bids of the Reed Construction Company, Misha-11
<br />waka, Indiana, for the construction of the improvements known as GRAT'DVIEIA, COURT pavementtj.
<br />improvement according to Improvement Resolution No. 2642, 1950, is the lowest and best i
<br />bid and that the contract to do said work be awarded to the Reed Construction Company I
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana, Said Bid being as follows:
<br />Item 1 Class "C" Type 1 Cement Concrete 'Pavement @ 3.25 per Sq. Yd.
<br />Item. 2 Excavation 4i 2.00 Per Cu. Yd.
<br />and, ROBINSON STREET pavement improvement according to Improvement Resolution No. 264-4,
<br />1950 is the lowest and best bid and that the contract to do said work be awarded to the
<br />Reed Construction Company, Mishawaka, Indiana, Said Bid being as follows:

<br />Resolution No. 2646, 1950, is the lowest and best bid and that the contract to do said
<br />work be awarded to the Reed Construction Company, Mishawaka, Indiana, Said Bid being as
<br />follows:

<br />Therefor Be It.Resolved, By the Board of Public "orks and Safety of the City of Sout
<br />Bend, Indiana, that the bids of the Reed Construction Company, Miishawaka, Indiana, for 1
<br />the construction of the improvements described in Improvement Resolutions Nos. 2642, 26441;
<br />and 2646, 1950, passed by this Board on August 14, 1950, and confirmed by this Board on
<br />September 5, 1950, be and the same is hereby adopted and that the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, thru its Mayor and Board of Public orks and Safety enter into a written contrac�
<br />with said Reed Construction Company, `Iishawaka, Indiana, for the faithful executor of,sue
<br />work, according to said bids, the detailed plans and specifications and the terms of saidl
<br />resolutions, provided that before entering upon the performance of said contracts, said
<br />Reed Construction Company, Mishawaka, Indiana, shall give bond, in the amount equal to
<br />one hundred (100) per cent of the contract price for such work, with a Surety Company
<br />legally authorized to transact business in the State of Indiana, as Surety., to the appro-1
<br />val of this Board, to secure the performance of such contract, and shall give a Maintena 'e
<br />Bond in the amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for such work, with,
<br />a Surety.Company legally authorized to transact business in the State of Ind -Jana, as Surety,
<br />to the approval of this Board to warrant and guarantee the work, material and condition• i
<br />of the pavements for a period of three 1
<br />(3) years, and to hold the City of South Bend, In-'
<br />diana, harmless from payment of any debt or damage by reason of any act of such Contrac- !
<br />tor, and to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material used in such improve-1
<br />ments.

<br />11 line of Sample Street in accordance with Improve-ment Resolution No. 2647, 1950, AND
<br />111RUSH STREET from the south line of Dayton Street to the north line of Calvert Street in

<br />accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2645, 1 ",5 0, AND
<br />• KENDALL STREET from the north line of Donald Street to the north line of Ewing Avenue in
<br />accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2652, 1950, passed by this Board on August 14
<br />1950, and confirmed by this Board on September 5, 1950.
