The Boa <br />informed Mr. Lawrence that theyy, would have a police officer at that intersection as ofte <br />as they can and will try -to work out a solution to the traffic problem. <br />BUSSES:: The Board, upon the reco_rxnendation of the Traffic Jngineer, granted the petiti <br />of the Northern Indiana Transit, Incorporated, to extend their present a;estern Avenue <br />bus line as per their request. <br />RAILROADS: A memo was received from the Common Council relative to dense black smoke <br />emanating from switch engines in the vicinity of the Ford and K_osciuszko Streets crossi <br />The Board drafted a letter to G. A. Farabaugh, Attorney for the railroads, calling this <br />complaint to his attention. <br />A letter was received from the attorneys for the New York Central Railroad informin <br />the Board that full cooperation will be given in the endeavor to keep the crossings free <br />and also to eliminate the smoke, soot and cinders complained of in our letter of Septem- <br />ber 20, 1950• <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Bellevil <br />Lumber and Supply Company; Galbreth Lindley Construction Company of Elkhart; John C. <br />Gillstrap d/b/a Gillstrap Construction Co.; H. Parker Link; and Hugh Vright. <br />A petition was received asking that North Elmer Street from Keller Street to Hamil- <br />ton be improved by the construction of a sanitary sewer and pavement.
