<br />AXI CABS: A letter was received from Samuel Schulman asking for two cab stands in front
<br />f 27- 27 1/2 South Chapin Street for the American Cab Company. This was referred to
<br />r. Miller for investigation and report.
<br />NGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds in the amount of $1,000 were approved and
<br />rdered filed for Charles E. Emmons; Marvin C. Kline d/b/a Kline Construction Company of
<br />assopolis, Michigan; The Norwalk Truck Line Company, Norwalk, Ohio; Daniel Radmanovich;
<br />rant E. Stump of Bremen, Indiana.
<br />An Excavation Bond in the amount of 4,1,000 for David Berebitsky was approved and or-
<br />ered filed.
<br />The Board approved plans for Twyckenham Hills, Section "C" for the Crown Development
<br />ompany.
<br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that they approved
<br />Ithe vacation of the first alley South of Calvert Street from 1lilliams Street to the first
<br />;alley east of Williams Street, and the Engineering Department was directed to prepare a
<br />Ivacation resolution.
<br />The City Engineer reported that he had investigated a report of the dumping of rubbisi]
<br />in the vicinity of Sample Street and Lombardy Drive. He has contacted the property owners:
<br />and the area will be closed and no further dumping will be allowed.

<br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award ''
<br />lof damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of a parcel of land
<br />,located on the north side of West Garst Street at the northwest corner of the intersection;
<br />,,of T-'6'est Garst Street and South Franklin Street, beginning at the northwest intersection ofl
<br />;said streets a distance due south 20.20 feet, thence due west a distance of 99.50 feet,
<br />;thence due south a distance of 12.00 feet, thence due west a distance of 20.00 feet, thencis
<br />due `north a distance of 32.20 feet, thence due east a. distance of 119.50 feet to the point
<br />:of beginning, under Vacation Resolution No. 2650.
<br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon.st-'
<br />rances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and
<br />;same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds thatthe several lots and par-iI
<br />cels`of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board!;,
<br />''therefore, decided to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all
<br />things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the proceedings closed,
<br />and 'the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various
<br />property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to said alley vacation]

<br />The hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 2651 having been continued until this date,
<br />hearing is now continued until Monday, October 16, 1950.
<br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2653
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by th�
<br />;,Board of Public Works for the vacation of an alley north of Western Avenue from Franklin
<br />;;Street to the west line of the alley west of Lafayette Boulevard, under Vacation Reolu-
<br />tion No. 2653. The Clerk of the Board having shown proofs of publication, same were founc
<br />!,sufficient. Charles Schilling and James R. Meehan, co -owners of Schillings, Incorporated)
<br />,appeared before the Board to remonstrate against said vacation. The matter was taken un-
<br />lder advisement pending further investigation, and a decision will be made at the next re-
<br />gular meeting, September 18, 1950.
