Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap- <br />proved. Aslin <br />d b a Aslin Plumbing & Heating was approved and ordered filed. <br />Contractor's Bonds in the amount of $1,000 were approved and ordered filed for Grove <br />C. Monroe; and, Leroy Matthews. <br />A plat of Canterbury Court was received by the Board and referred to the City Plan <br />Commission. <br />A petition was received asking for the installation of a sewer on Camden, between <br />Western. Avenue and Washington Street. This was referred to the City Engineer. <br />A petition to improve the alley between Kendall and Chapin Streets from Dubail to <br />Bruce Street; and, also, Bruce Street from Chapin Street east to the alley was received <br />by the Board and referred to the City Engineer. <br />A letter was freceived from the Association of Commerce asking permission to erect <br />a bulletin board across the entire front of the property located at 128-130 South Michiga <br />Street. Permission was asked for this erection because of the fact that it will extend <br />4 inches over public property. Permission was granted by the Board, but special insuranc <br />will be required holding the city harmless from all liability. This board is to be used <br />for civic and educational purposes only. <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of the first alley south of Western <br />Avenue from the first alley west of Phillipa to the east side of Olive Street, <br />Vacation Resolution No. 2641 <br />Mr. R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards <br />of damages and the assessmehbs of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the alley im- <br />mediately north of Lot Numbered 11 extending from St. Peter Street to the west line of <br />said Lot Numbered 11, and the alley between Lots Numbered 4 and 5 and extending.,from <br />Howard Street to the south line of Lots Numbered 4 and 5 as shown on the recorded plat of <br />Kelley's Sub -Division of Lots 131, 132, 133, 137, 138 and 139 in Sorin's Second Addition <br />to the Town of Lower, under Vacation Resolution No. 2641. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders thatit will meet in the <br />City Hall at 10:00 A.M. (CST) on the 7th day of August for the purpose of hearing and re- <br />ceiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said vacation, and <br />the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages <br />awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on <br />the 21st day of July and on the 28th day of July in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News. <br />
