Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per <br />ing to his Department were discussed. <br />The Board approved stop signs on Marrietta at Indiana .Avenue, both sides. <br />The Board approved the installation of a traffic signal light at intersection of <br />Madison and Michigan Streets, which were placed in operation June 15, 1950. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT:.._ Contractors' Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Ira E. <br />Wallen, John Wesley Smith, d/b/a Smith Construction Company, Edward Burton, M. E. Walters <br />d/b/a M. E. Walters, Peter Guila, Francis Snider, and Indiana Bell Telephone Company. <br />Petitions were received asking for the construction of a permanent type pavement on <br />ROBINSON STREET from Calvert to Randolph Streets, RANDOLPH STREET to the New York Central <br />Railroad tracks, and.the New York Central railroad tracks to Lincolnwa.y East. These were <br />referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report. <br />The Board approved plans for the erection of a canopy over the sidewalk for a build- <br />ing for Swank Dry Cleaning, 312 West LaSalle Avenue. <br />I Mr. Shearer appeared before the Board to ask permission to erect a stand on the side <br />walk in the fifteen hundred block of Mishawaka Avenue for entertainment. The Board de- <br />nied the request for the erection of a stand, but granted permission for the placing of <br />lights and flags along the store fronts and have roving musicians. <br />Mr. Fread representing the bread Decorating Company appeared before the Board to as <br />permission to place flags and bunting on the street light poles along Michigan Street <br />June 23 to June 25, inclusive, during the Eagles Convention.
