�83 <br />This being the date set,. hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of part of Alley <br />West of Vernon Street from DuBail Avenue north a distance of 114 feet under Vacation <br />,Resolution No. 2596. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators, appeared and no written rem- <br />onstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices <br />and; same were found sufficient, and the Board, ,therefore, finds that the several lots; <br />• and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. <br />The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares <br />same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro- <br />ceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments <br />from the various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to <br />said alley vacation are hereby sustained. <br />DOG' POUND: <br />This being the date set for receiving,bids for the construction of a Dog Pound <br />Building, the following bids were opened and publically read:: <br />Carl J. Rienke & Sons A Non -Collusion Affidavit accompanied bid. <br />741 31st Street <br />South Bend, Indiana. General Construction of Dog Pound for the <br />City of South Bend, according to plans and <br />specifications of the City Engineer $2985.20 <br />Alternate #1 If Cyclone fence is required <br />add $275.00 to the Base Bid. <br />.Alternate #2 If concrete curb is required <br />under fence, 61, x 1811 add the amount of <br />$95.00 to base bid. <br />• Alternate #3 If Residential steel windows <br />are used, add the sum of u_�5.00 to base bid. <br />Windows figured in the base bid are utility <br />windows of steel. <br />Thomas L. Dickey, Inc., <br />712 N. Niles Avenue, <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />The Overhead door gigured in the base bid is <br />a sectional wood door that is metal clad on <br />both sides. If metal is required on just <br />one side, deduct the amount of $66.00 from <br />the base bid. <br />TOTAL BASE BID O,324.00 <br />A Non -Collusion Affidavit accompanied bid. <br />General Construction of Dog Pound for the <br />City of South Bend, according to plans and <br />specifications of the City Engineer $3,599.00 <br />If concrete curb is used under the cyclone <br />fence add $70.00 <br />TOTAL BASE BID $3,669.00 <br />The above contract was awarded. to Carl J. Rienke & Sons, their bid being, in the <br />Board's opinion, the lowest and best bid received. <br />This contract was awarded subject to the approval of the Common Council. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Board adjourned at <br />10:00 A.
