574 The Board approved plans of the Coelpaert Realty Company for the paving of Fairway Street from Sample Street to Juniper Place, from Juniper Place to Lombardy, also Parkway and Juniper Place, Ford Street from the Alley east of Juniper to Lombardy. The Board approved the plans and profile drawings of the Hoover Avenue Sewer. PARKING METER DEPARTMENT: 1949. Mr. Maurice C. Vennet, Auditor, presented his report for the week=ending August 20, STREET DEPARTMENT___ Mr. Melton Brannon, Superintendent, was present and matters pertain- ing to his department were discussed. The Board granted permission for the Sherman-Schaus-Freeman Company to park three new Studebaker Trucks in front of the Indiana Club on August 22nd and 23rd, 1949. Also permission to park a new Studebaker car in frontof the Gilbert Store and George A. Wyman store on Monday August 22, 1949. The Board accepted the bid of the Cayuga Rock Salt Co., Inc., of Meyers, New York for 300 ton of rock salt at $17.312 per ton and also the bid of Wilson Taylor, 3014 E. Hastings Street, South Bend, Indianafor hauling of salt from box cars to the street department for U3.00 per ton. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters per to his department were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A. M. ATTEST: August �9, 1949 A regular meeting .of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, August 29, 1949 at 9:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A petition to prohibit heavy trulk traffic in the 1000 block of West Dubail Avenue was referred to Mr. Muller for investigation and report. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor&s Bonds in the amount of $1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for Harry M. Verkler, Everett Lee Richardson, William F.
