553 There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Board adjourned at 12:25 P. M. ATTEST: .A-VJ_A__ SPECIAL MEETING July 7,194f A Special Meeting was held on July 71 1949 at 10:30 A. m. All members were pre- sent. The meeting was called for the purpose of considering contracts and documents submitted by Consoer, Townsent and Associates. Tbie Board ordered that notices be placed in the South Bend Tribune and the Mirror -Press notifying bidders that bids will • be received up until 10:00 A. M. C. S. T. for contracts #l, 2A and 2B for intercepting sewers, lift station and sewage disposal plant. A letter received from Consoer, Town- send and Associates under date of June 27, 1949 was ordered placed on record. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Claim of the following supplier in the amount of $1.16 was approved and ordered raid: Indiana and T71ichigan Electric Co. 1.16 TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was not present. Matters pertaining to his department were discussed. ENGINEERING DEPARTTRNT: An Excavation bond in the amount of $2,000.00 was approved and ordered filed for • Stanley E. Wesolowski. An Excavation bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved and ordered filed for Fred Spromberg. Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for H. G. Christman Construction Co., Inc., Stanley E. Nesolowski, Anthony J. Sabo d/b/a Beaver Tree Service, William Wilson, Lloyd Donavan. - The Board approved plans presented by the Indiana -Bell Telephone Company for a proposed condiut on N. Main Street and also plans for the rebuilding of manholes at Michigan and Washington Streets and at the alley west of Main Street on Washington Street. I • The Board approved plans for a canopy and step arrangement for a building at 621 South Bendix Drive. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton 0. Brannon was present and matters pertaining to his I department were discussed. The Board denied the request of Mr. James C. Shano represents g the South Bend Lumber Company to place benches on the parkway between the sidewalk and the curb at all bus stops. PARKING METER DEPARTTyfH1NT: _-. Mr. Maurice C. Vennet presented his report for the week ending July 9, 1949. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr, Stanley Leszczynski was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed.
